McGregor Sword

For long a treasured possession and heirloom of the McGregor Family, this blade has been verified as a genuine 17th Century claymore. It is believed that the blade was carried to Canada by Angus McGregor, the son of Alexander McGregor, (often known as "The Duke of Breadalbane"), when he emigrated from Scotland in the 1800s.

McGregor SwordThe blade was subsequently handed down from generation to generation of the McGregor family, and it was returned to Scotland in 2006, when it was presented to Breadalbane Folklore Centre by the family of the late Mrs. Lottie Kate McGregor.

Along with other artefacts and items associated with Rob Roy and the McGregor clan, it is now proudly displayed in the exhibition galleries in Breadalbane Folklore Centre.
